The Ultimate Ride

Just got home about an hour or so after having two teh tarik halia (now dok kentut2 haha) with a good friend of mine whos also an avid biker...I've known ASP Norhizam for about 2 years now after we met during Maxis Merdeka Rally 2006, he was the police marshall of the entire convoy (of bikes & 4x4s). He's now stationed in Bintulu, Sarawak holding the OCPD post there. Allow me tell you more about Izam (as i call him) before i get into the title above k...

Before he was transfered to where he is now, he was in charged of the KL traffic department in Jalan Bandar. For those not familiar...Jalan Bandar ni balai polis paling famous la kat KL ni...its where you appeal for your traffic summons to be discounted (and pay la kan) and report for any accidents...tempat ni memang orang cukup tak suka pergi la...bukan sebab apa...just that we only visit the men in blue when we are in trouble right?...

While he was based here in KL he is THE guy responsible rounding the mat rempits in town...I must say he really made a genuine attempt (mind u its not an easy struggle) in making our KL roads a safer place but one can only do so much la kan...so you can also assume that hes quite famous among the mat rempits as he had appeared in the papers many times after nabbing them...

Ok enuf intro on him...so hes back here for afew days for some work so we took the opportunity to catch up on things...biasa lah bila kaki motor ni dok sembang cerita pasal motor je lah...the normal conversation la...the funny thing about bikers ni we will ALWAYS ask how each others bike is doing first before we ask about wife, kids, family, work etc...(my mrs is a biker too so she understands this haha...i hope)...

So after me making sure his bike is ok and him making sure mine is ok too...keluar la idea pasal nak plan buat ride ni...i'm not ready to share with you guys the whole detail about the ride and all...but suffice i say it's a damn bloody good idea...if this plan materialise its gonna be my longest ride ever by far and i mean really really far...it's gonna take us at least a year to really plan this ride and i've been assigned to look for sponsorship...Izam will be drawing up the routes that we will be taking and also other neccessary paper work...

You see...for a looooooong ride like this we will be carrying with us spare parts & tyres, spare riders (yup in case kalau demam takleh bawak moto camne?), reserve fuel, safety kit, first aid kit and the list goes on and on. So you can imagine the amount of time and detailed planning that needs to be put in...Nevertheless thats the fun part too coz the journey actually begins the moment we start planning and as a matter of fact it has started about 2 hours ago...

I shall now dream about it...
