Tanah Tumpah Nya Darah Ku!

What a perfect closure to the year!...cant think of anything else to better what our young tigers achieved last nite in Jakarta...i've said it before in my previous posting our beloved country can be united through sports and last nite was the best example...

I caught the game at Safiz a mamak stall in Hartamas...i observed, it was one of those rare occasions (sadly) where Malaysians regardless of political orientation and race were on the same side!...all of us had a common goal willing our national team to beat Indonesia...

The boys played awesomely well despite losing 2-1 but won on a 4-2 aggregate...i just hope FAM and other relevant parties responsible for their development will guide this young team to the right direction...

To the team coach K Rajagopal (he deserves a datukship now) job well done!...fyi i had a chat with some FAM people recently and i'm told he's a real good coach and always bring luck to the team he manages...

To the minister of youth and sports Dato Ahmad Shabery Cheek thank you for being with the team through and through...your continuous presence around the team have definitely given them the assurance and confidence! It has been a fantastic year for Malaysian sports under your helm...

World Cup 2014 in Rio de Janeirio, Brazil?...hahaha maybe its still a HUGE ask...but lets have a good qualifying round that we can all be proud of...

The team is expected to arrive at KLIA today at 2pm...lets welcome the heroes!

My Little Sacrifice For Prem - Selamat Hari Raya Qurban

Yesterday i made a day trip to Kota Kinabalu...my seasoned riders might know from my past postings that i have a soft spot for this beautiful city...i was fortunate enough to be invited by our national carrier MAS to be on their new Boeing 737-800 inaugural flight to KK...

The Deputy Minister of Transportation and CEO/MD of MAS Tengku Datuk Seri Azmil Zahruddin were among the VVIP on board the new flight...before we boarded the aircraft the deputy minister and Tengku performed a simple ceremony with the gong...

During the 2 1/2 hour flight, Tengku did his PR bit by chatting with almost all of us so i ceased the kodak moment opportunity lah...

On the return flight home i sat next to a 10 year old boy Prem A/L Kathavarayan...he seemed like a very well behaved boy displaying a maturity way beyond his age...i didnt know why i offered him my KitKat chocolate bar that came with my in flight meal initially...but something inside tells me that i should "sacrifice" my KitKat (i love KitKat k!) and give it to Prem...

I didn't chat much with Prem (which i so regret later!!!) until about 3 quarter of the journey...i was basically trying catch some sleep which was much needed...Prem did try to strike a conversation with me when he was listening to a song on his mobile...he said to me "this is my mother's favorite song"...he didn't occur to me anything more than a boy whose prolly can't wait to be reunited with his mom in KL...

About 20mins later (prolly after seeing me being so restless as i couldn't find THE right spot to doze off) he turned to me and uttered 6 words that really shook me!!!...his exact words were "my mom just passed away yesterday"...thereafter i couldn't stop talking to him until we got off the plane...

I was just amazed by his sense of calmness and composure (and hes just 10!)...he never looked sad or depressed to me...Prem has thought me alot in that 2 1/2 hour i've known him or shall i say 30 mins...i promised Prem i'd ride about this story and get my fellow riders to say a little prayer for his late mom...

Dear Neermala Davi...you must have been really proud of Prem...may God bless your soul...R.I.P 14 Jan 1969 to 14 Nov 2010.

Snapshot - NSTP & ROLF Charity Ride

The last time i went for a long ride was during Rock to Rock in 2008...yes its been ages ago...last Saturday, after 2 years, i joined the charity ride to Melaka organised by NSTP and ROLF (Rainbow Of Life Forces)...

There were about 41 bikes altogether that took off from NSTP office in Jalan Riong Bangsar...among the riders were YB Wee and Datuk Rocky...the convoy was flagged off by Datuk Zainul Arifin Managing Editor of NSTP Group...

From left: Datuk Zainul, YB Wee, EE and Datuk Rocky

Thanks to Harley Davidson of Malaysia for loaning me one of their demo bikes XR1200X Sporster for the trip...my baby Dyna FXR had to be left at home as i was not sure if it can take me the distance after a 2 years break...

When we got to Melaka we stopped at Shah Village Resort in Klebang...(you guys must check out this place its really beautiful)...the same owner Shah Khai runs Shah Hotel next to A&W in PJ (yes the one where DV8 is connected too!!!)...

Thanks to Rocky Bru for uploading the picture of me with Shah Khai here...

Rethink Your World...

Last nite marked a fresh beginning for the country's latest media powerhouse Redberry...held at the Redberry City in sec 13 PJ, the launch party was graced by industry captains and stakeholders...ride here for more details...

Under the Redberry family we have :-
1. The Malay Mail (the country's oldest newspaper since 1896)
2. The Malaysian Reserve (an all-business daily)
3. Bernama TV (a 24 hour news channel on astro 502)
4. Redberry Ambient (out of home TV ie screens you see at office building lifts, hypermarkets)
5. Redberry Retail (advertising rights at car parks to check out counters in Carrefour, Tesco and Jusco hypermarket chains)
6. Redberry Outdoor (outdoor advertising company ie billboards, Rapid KL buses wrap around)
7. Redberry Airport (airport advertising player at KLIA, LCCT and Senai airports)
8. Redberry Contact Centre (providing telemarketing services)
9. Redberry Digital (new media solutions provider)
10. Redberry Events (AAM Msian Rally Championship and GBOB)

"Rethink Your World" is some sort of our mantra if you like...i personally define it as a process of reality check...i mean lets take a step back a minute and do some rethinking...lets rethink about our true potential..lets rethink about our true capabilities...lets rethink about our true ability to be adaptive, receptive etc...

Basically its about changing our perception of the world...and hopefully we will all be able to look at things in a new way...for Bernama TV which i helm, we desire to accelerate the maturity of our society through our news and programs...we also aim to inspire Malaysians to be more competitive on the world stage...

As for racial integration let us all find "a new middle"...lets flatten the walls and make the world flat...i'm truly humbled to be part of this noble journey...

Alright Stop Collaborate & Listen...(remember the next line?)

Salam fellow riders!!!...(wow i'm really nervous)...sorry to have been gone for so long...this is not by all means my 2nd come back...was googling and bump into my own blog...read the comments from my fellow riders and it suddenly struck me!...

I've been very unfair to my riders for not updating this blog for a long long time!...so i picked up my phone and immediately called Faqrul (remember my IT genius guy back in Suria?) to check if he still remembers my email and password to this blog...(yup i totally have forgotten both!)...thankfully he guided me through a few possibilities as he himself was not sure...

Nway...glad to be back...have many many stories and thoughts to share in the coming days...so if you can forgive me for the long absence...do keep on your bikes...
